Bots in the News:

Again, it was a strong Friday that kept the market from falling even further than the 2.275% decline which ended the week. The Bot Index faired much worse with its near 4% drop. Within the Index, twenty-two of the thirty stocks were in negative territory. Only two stocks registered any semblance of good results. NVIDIA Corp. reversed its multi-week tumble to gain nearly 8%. NIO Corp. gained 9.62%, although its extremely low price accentuated the percentage increase.

And, about lower priced issues, two lower priced Bot Index components experienced declines which jeopardizes their maintenance within the Index. 3D Systems fell 11.57% to close at $2.60 and iRobot tumbled 47.74% as investors expressed serious concerns about the future viability of the consumer appliance firm. We will review the two firms to determine if they are adding any value to the purpose of the Index’ objective of reflecting the automation industry.

Cognex Corp. fell 7.24% as investors reflected on the three-year decline of 48%. Apple fell 15.75%. Apparently, the old Chicago song, “Where Do We Go From Here” is the new mantra of investors in the premier consumer/technology company’s long term outlook.
