Bots in the News:
The gains by bots in this week’s trading were dominated, almost exclusively by the Asian components of the Bot Index. The Bot index gained 2.16%, while the S & P 500 rose 1.45%. Five of the seven Asian holdings gained 5% or greater, with OMRON Corp. the leading gainer generating an 11.59% increase. Other notables included Yaskawa Electric (+7.32%), Keyence Corp. (+9.20%) and Fanuc (+5.06%).
Leading domestic holdings included 3D Systems, whom always seems to be among the most dynamic losers or gainers and Faro Corp. that jumped 9.56%. Faro recovered from its early August slide that was precipitated by poor revenue and earnings from the June quarter.
The only large loser during the week was Immersion Corp who fell 11.15% on no major news.
