SICK Showcases Wide Range of Solutions at the International Robots, Vision & Motion Control Show

POSTED 06/09/2009

Minneapolis, Minn. – SICK (www.sickusa.com), one of the world’s leading manufacturers of sensors, safety systems, machine vision, and automatic identification products for factory and logistics automation, today announced that it will showcase its wide range of machine vision, safety, and industrial sensor solutions for robotics and vision applications at the International Robots and Vision Show, June 9-11, 2009, in Rosemont, IL. SICK is in booth #1641.

On display at the show is SICK’s new Easy 3D Calibration tool. This new tool allows the user to calibrate a SICK Ranger 3D Camera within a few minutes by simply moving and holding a calibration target at several random positions in the measurement zone. The calibration tool helps decrease setup time and increases camera functionality by making it easier to process data.

Also at the show is the Inspector I20 FLEX Vision Sensor, which augments SICK’s existing line of Inspector Vision Sensors. The Inspector I20 offers new features that enable greater application flexibility. New features include interchangeable lenses and an I/O extension module with up to 16 outputs – making it ideal for inspecting nearly any high-speed application.

In addition, the new FX3 Flexi Soft Modular Safety Controller will be showcased. The Flexi Soft is a software programmable, expandable, easy-to-commission safety controller that can be efficiently adapted to a variety of safety applications for small- to medium-sized machines.

Thanks to a modular hardware platform, the controller expands module by module (12-144 inputs/outputs), saving space in the control cabinet while optimizing cost and providing flexibility for future expansion; users only build what they need.
