Robot Safety Training Enhances EXPO PACK México 2018 Education

POSTED 05/08/2018

Robotics safety training is the latest addition to the robust education program at Latin America’s largest packaging and processing event, EXPO PACK México 2018 (Expo Santa Fe Mexico, Mexico City, June 5-8), according to show producer PMMI, The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies. The exposition expects to convene 23,000 national and international visitors with more than 1,000 exhibiting companies from over 20 countries.

Led by The Association for Advancing Automation (A3), the world's leading advocate for the benefits of automation, “Industrial Robot Safety Training” will take place Thursday, June 7 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

This training is aimed at machinery manufacturers engineering, systems integrators and maintenance personnel responsible for maintaining and/or modifying the security control systems in robotic cells. This course offers an overview of the applicable standards for safety in cells with industrial robots according to the ISO 10218-1, ISO10218-2.

“In recent years, automation has emerged as one of the top factors driving machinery purchasing decisions in Mexico,” says Gerardo Barajas, EXPO PACK Mexico Director. “This offers an opportunity to ensure they can safely integrate and apply advanced technologies into their operations.”

“We’re excited to offer robot safety training for the first time in Mexico,” said Bob Doyle, Vice President – A3 Mexico. “As the robotics and automation industry continues to grow in Mexico, it is imperative that robot systems are safe for all workers involved.”

For more information or to register, please visit the A3 Mexico website. The training cost for A3 Mexico members is $M 2,000, non-members is $M 2,500.

In addition to robotics training, EXPO PACK México provides free educational offerings within its 19,300 net square meters of exhibition space. The Innovation Stage (Booth 364) offers attendees 30-minute seminars each day addressing key industry trends.

The Mexican Association of Packaging and Packaging (AMEE) Conference addresses printing and coding on Wednesday, June 6, flexible packaging on Thursday, June 7 and packaging Innovation and the supply chain on Friday, June 8. These programs take place each day from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
