Protected even when unmated

What makes NCC connectors unique is that the contacts of the female panel mount connector are protected by an integrated, spring-loaded plastic cover. This cover automatically seals the interface as soon as the connector is unmated, effectively preventing the ingress of dirt, dust and liquids. Series 670 achieves a degree of protection of IP54 when unmated and IP67 when mated, while series 770 provides IP67 protection in both conditions. This makes the connectors ideal for applications that require frequent mating and unmating without compromising interface protection.

“With the binder NCC family, we combine high protection requirements with simple handling. Our goal was to develop a solution that offers maximum protection even when unmated while remaining robust and intuitive to use. The NCC family is therefore a prime example of our commitment to delivering practical, user-oriented innovation,” explains Jana Wagner, Product Manager at binder.

Fast, secure, intuitive

The NCC connectors feature a bayonet locking system that enables fast, secure and tool-free connection. With more than 1,000 mating cycles (series 670) and more than 5,000 mating cycles (series 770), the system ensures long-term reliable performance even under frequent use.

The female panel mount connectors of both series, 670 and 770, are equipped with an integrated sealing cap. It’s precisely designed spring mechanism ensures consistent return movement and reliable long-term sealing performance.

For a wide range of applications – from industry to medical technology

The NCC family is suitable for use in automation, measurement and testing technology, laboratory environments and medical devices where hygiene, protection and reliability are essential.

A typical example is medical diagnostic equipment: connectors are frequently mated and unmated but must also meet strict hygiene requirements and provide protection against liquids. In industrial measurement systems, where sensors operate in humid or dusty environments, the NCC ensures secure and durable connections.

Developed for demanding environments

With series 670 and 770, binder offers compact and versatile 5- and 8-pin circular connectors with bayonet locking. Both connectors achieve IP67 protection when mated and are therefore suitable for applications in measurement and testing technology, lighting or signal indication. The bayonet lock prevents accidental disconnection.

For series 770, a medical-grade version in grey-white (similar to RAL 9002) is also available. It is biocompatible in accordance with ISO 10993-5 and therefore meets the requirements of medical technology.

Conclusion – Protection in every connection state

With the Not Connected Closed (NCC) family, binder provides a versatile solution for applications that demand reliability, protection and ease of use – even when unmated.

The NCC series combines mechanical robustness, high protection ratings and intuitive handling, representing practical innovation “Made by binder”.
