Linear Guide Systems Available in Multiple Rail Configurations

POSTED 06/24/2008

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. – June 24, 2008 – DryLin® W linear guides from igus are a low-cost, compact, easy-to-install solution.  They are self-lubricating, maintenance-free and completely dirt- and dust-resistant.

DryLin W is an ideal replacement for re-circulating ball bearing guides due to its maintenance-free, self-lubricating operation.  Unlike ball bearings, contaminants cannot build up in DryLin.  This prevents malfunction or shaft damage.  All DryLin bearings and guides systems from igus have a low coefficient of friction, are corrosion-resistant and wear-resistant.

DryLin W is available as a combination of two supported round shafts in one profile, or in a split rail configuration.  Each option provides its own unique advantages: the single profile option significantly lowers the cost of an application and eliminates time-consuming shaft alignment and assembly.  If the acting forces project beyond the slide or space is limited, the split rails can be assembled at a 90-degree angle.  Other options include installing the linear slides as four bearing blocks connected to a mounting plate for ease and simplicity, or bolting them directly to the superstructure.

The round shaft guide design increases resistance to dirt, dust and other contaminants.  With this design—regardless of installation position—dirt is unable to remain on the glide tracks.  The dry-running nature of DryLin further ensures that debris will not stick to the guide system.  Special liners are also available if chemical resistance is required.

DryLin W is well suited for automation, packaging, textile and medical applications.  Like igus’ entire line of linear guide systems, DryLin W delivers superior performance even in high-acceleration or short-stroke applications.
