Intel Labs Reveals Technology Trends for Home Robots during Robotics Industry Forum
Key drivers are emerging this year that will enable affordable home robots, according to Dieter Fox, Director of the Intel Labs Seattle and Associate Professor in the Computer Science & Engineering Department at the University of Washington, Seattle. One is a new, $100 camera enhanced with depth perception. Another factor is a shift from development of mechanics, which is fairly mature, to new and improved algorithms, or as he put it “silicon.”
