Bosch Rexroth to present complete automation solutions portfolio at Automate 2023

POSTED 05/16/2023

Bosch Rexroth will display Factory Automation product technologies and solutions for manufacturing in Booth 4013 at Automate 2023, May 22-25, in Detroit, Michigan.

Our factory automation portfolio provides an extensive range of solutions that surpasses just advanced components, as it also encompasses digital engineering tools and tailored support to assist you in resolving the most intricate engineering predicaments.

Make sure to stop by Room 320 at the Automate Conference to hear AMR/Robotics Business Leader, Armando Gonzalez, present “Autonomous Mobile Robots Move Harmonious Factory Automation Workflows” on May 23, from 3:30 PM – 4:15 PM.

Bosch Rexroth will be featuring the ACTIVE Shuttle in the AMR Demo Area at the following times:

  • Tuesday, May 23 (3:15 PM - 3:45 PM)
  • Thursday, May 25 (11:45 AM - 12:15 PM)

The booth will include interactive exhibits and working systems demos. Featured will be a Flexible Transport System (FTS) hybrid that delivers high accuracy with unprecedented speed, integrated with a Kassow collaborative robot. Other demos include:

  • MP1000R and M200C Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR)
  • The new Smart Flex Effector (SFE)
  • ctrlX AUTOMATION

At the booth, attendees can expect guidance from Bosch Rexroth’s factory automation specialists on devising effective strategies for complete factory automation solutions. Our experts can offer innovative approaches, ensuring that visitors can develop solutions that are both smarter and more productive. That’s Factory Automation — the way it should be.

Key booth demos and highlights include:

ctrlX AUTOMATION: This unique, four-sided demo illustrates the modularity and scalability of ctrlX AUTOMATION while presenting an overview of ctrlX DRIVE and ctrlX CORE hardware capabilities. On display is a three-axis ctrlX DRIVE linked to a ctrlX CORE industrial PC running in real-time. Other components, such as ctrlX IO, ctrlX HMI and the MS2N synchronous motor, are also included. In addition, the exhibit demonstrates how ctrlX CORE supports modern languages for today’s industrial machinery, such as Java, Python and Node Red, plus many other application-appropriate languages.

MP1000R and M200C Autonomous Mobile Robot: Made in collaboration with leading AMR provider, Geek+, the MP1000R is a 1000kg capacity autonomous mobile robot (AMR) that uses Laser SLAM-based technology developed by Bosch Rexroth to develop a "map" of the work environment and move without human intervention to deliver materials safely and reliably across a warehouse or factory. The M200C is a 200kg payload capacity AMR with a compact size that allows it to work in narrow spaces and densely populated areas.

With Rexroth’s ROKIT Locator mapping software, both AMRs can automatically update the map and improve it over time as the facility environment changes. The MP1000R and M200C will interact with several structures, including a pallet rack and workstation, made of Bosch Rexroth’s proven aluminum structural framing portfolio.

Flexible Transport System (FTS): The Flexible Transport System is combined with the TS2 to create a fast, precise and flexible conveyor system. The linear motor driven FTS section allows high speed positioning of workpiece pallets with bi-directional, synchronous, or asynchronous moves. The FTS is integrated with a lightweight and maneuverable Kassow Robot.

Smart Function Kit for Handling (SFK4H): Bosch Rexroth’s Smart Function Kit for Handling is an innovative preassembled multi-axis robot made up of tailored, standardized modules and components, which can be put together quickly to form smart subsystems. Simply select and adapt the basic type online, configure and order it, and commission it with software guidance.

Rexroth’s best-in-class components can be used to create smart mechatronics solutions for the Factory of the Future, with minimal use of resources.

Smart Flex Effector (SFE): The Smart Flex Effector is a sensor-based compensation module with independent kinematics in six degrees of freedom that is the first of its kind. It increases precision in handling devices and opens up new areas of application for robots and Cartesian systems. Used in complex handling applications, joining operations with micron-level tolerances, robotic teaching, performing in-process measuring, and providing movement flexibility that was until now unobtainable, the Smart Flex Effector solves a wide array of challenges that have troubled integrators for years.

Nexo Cordless Nutrunner: Experience a whole new world of joining technology and demo the latest addition to Bosch Rexroth’s tightening system portfolio, the new NEXO nutrunner. This tightening system seamlessly integrates into conveying systems, aluminum framing workstations, and more and incorporates the complete control directly inside the device, while still keeping its sleek, cordless design.
