FieldLink® AS-Interface cables

In the factory automation market, the AS-Interface system is used in various sectors and is developed as an alternative to conventional parallel wiring of sensors and actuators.

The yellow profile cable is AS-Interface’s trademark. Due to its profiled design, it is resistant to polarity reversal and can be connected to device interfaces easily and safely anywhere. The AS-Interface cable is an unshielded two-conductor flat cable. It transfers data and power to actuators and sensors.

BizLink offers a wide range of AS-Interface cables for various applications:

1. The new ASi rubber cable is BizLink´s economy version for AS-Interface applications. Its fully EPDM rubber design offers the advantages of AS-Interface in combination with a cost-efficient design.

The functionality includes simple installation and compatibility with AS-Interface special piercing technology, just like our conventional AS-Interface products. The characteristics are:

• Fully EPDM rubber design
• Halogen-free
• Cold bending resistant
• Sunlight resistant
• Available as 1,5 mm² and 2,5 mm² version

2. For digital communication, BizLink also offers AS-Interface cables, which guarantee easy, fast, and efficient installation in automation systems.

The new ASi-5 performance includes:

• 96 connected devices
• 1.2 ms cycle time
• 16-bit process data
• 96 x 16 safe inputs/outputs
• Increased diagnostics
• Integrated IO-Lin

ASi-5 cables are available in the following versions:

• 2 x 1,5 mm²
• 2 x 2,5 mm²
• Available in different jacket materials e.g., FRNC, EPDM, TPU, TPE, PVC

From now on every BizLink AS-Interface cable is suitable for the new ASi-5 standard.

3. Fire-resistant ASi cable according to BauPVO EU 305/2011

BizLink also offers AS-Interface cables for permanent installation in building structures, which are fire-resistant according to the BauPVO EU 305/2011. These cables must be manufactured and evaluated in accordance with the harmonized European standard EN 50575 and labeled with a CE marking pursuant to the EU Construction Products Regulation 305/2011.

The characteristics of the fire-resistant ASi portfolio are:

• Fire class ECA
• ID code of the declaration of performance (DoP) CDEFR0000025
• Flame propagation and heat generation, with simultaneous low release of corrosive gases and smoke reduction
• With TPE outer jacket
