Conference Description
Many manufacturers shy away from automation in welding because their applications are unconventional. Short-run jobs, large pieces, and even one-off jobs have historically been poor fits for Robotic Welding. With new technologies, automation can be effectively applied, with cost and quality benefits, in many applications where it was not possible in the past. Many new technologies also are being introduced that can benefit the “conventional” robotic welding application.
This three-day event will incorporate many of these new technologies and nontraditional applications. It will benefit the company researching automation as a new application, and those using automation successfully and working to stay current with new technologies. The conference will include a one-day tour at Caterpillar’s Aurora facility followed by a reception with exhibits and a Keynote address “The Robotics Industry: Past and Present” by Donald A. Vincent, Vice President Emeritus Robotics Industries Association. Day two will be held at the Milwaukee Area Technical College including presentations discussing the successful implementation of new technologies.
