Image of SDA-Series Dual-Arm Robots Motoman's slim, dual-arm SDA-series robots are strong, quick and agile. Powerful actuator-based design and best-in-class wrist characteristics make these robots ideally suited for a wide variety of assembly, part transfer, machine tending, packaging and other handling tasks that formerly could only be done by people. Both robot arms can work together on one task to double the payload or handle heavy, unwieldy parts, trays or pallets. The ability to use dual independent arms to process parts reduces the need for expensive custom fixturing and allows end-of-arm tooling to be simple and less costly. These unique dual-arm robots feature 15 axes of motion (7 axes per arm, plus a single axis for base rotation). Internally routed cables and hoses reduce interference and maintenance, and also make programming easier. The SDA10D/SDA10F models have a 10 kg (22.1 lb) payload per arm, while the SDA20D robot has a 20 kg (44.1 lb) payload per arm. The newest model, the SDA5D, features a 5 kg (11 lb) payload per arm. SDA5F, SDA10F and SDA20F models are compatible with the FS100 controller. SDA5D, SDA10D and SDA20D models are compatible with the DX100 controller.
