RealSense D585 is an AI-native depth camera built for robots and Physical AI, delivering wide-field stereo depth, close-range precision, long-range coverage, global shutter performance, IP65 protection, and software-defined perception capabilities for AMRs, humanoids, cobots, and industrial automation.
The RealSense D585 is an AI-native depth camera built for robots and Physical AI. More than an incremental update, D585 represents a platform reset for RealSense vision systems — combining robot-native hardware with an AI-native, software-defined platform.
Built on RealSense’s Gen 5 SoC, the D585 features a new depth engine, ISP, DSP, quad-core ARM processor, dual projectors, and high-resolution sensors. The result is high-quality stereo depth across a wide 120×100° field of view, with improved detail preservation, reduced noise, and high-speed performance for demanding robotics and industrial vision applications.
Designed for real-world deployment, D585 delivers 10 cm minimum range at full resolution, 20m+ maximum range, 60 FPS performance, global shutter, IMU, GMSL2 connectivity, and IP65 protection. Built-in IR filters support consistent indoor and outdoor operation across factories, warehouses, loading docks, logistics environments, and other dynamic settings.
For autonomous mobile robots and humanoids, D585 provides wide situational awareness, close-range obstacle detection, long-range navigation support, and simultaneous color-depth perception. Dual RGB mode delivers 30 FPS RGB and 30 FPS depth at full resolution, merged on-camera with no host CPU overhead.
For cobots, inspection systems, bin picking, shelf scanning, assembly verification, and conveyor applications, D585 delivers close-range depth precision and high frame rates for detecting objects, surfaces, parts, and defects in motion.
As a software-defined platform, D585 is designed to become more capable over time through RealSense SDK updates. Planned and beta capabilities include person detection, Visual-Inertial Odometry, occupancy grid, compression, and enhanced depth — helping developers and OEMs add perception capabilities without replacing hardware.
