IPR has developed a new robot travel axis whose entire base body is made of concrete instead of steel or aluminum. This has positive effects on quality and the environment. Compared to metal, concrete leaves a significantly smaller carbon footprint and reduces vibrations and oscillations in the component. Another advantage of concrete is that it is torsionally stiff. This means that the dynamic movements of a robot result in significantly less deflection of the 7th axes.
