InduSol America LLC

Non-reactive test access point for PROFINET and EtherNet/IP networks providing bidirectional telegram recording during live production.

Image of PNMA II - Network TAP - PROFINET / EtherNet/IP Test Access Point

The PNMA II is a passive network TAP that provides non-reactive access for telegram recording in PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, and other Industrial Ethernet networks during live production without interrupting communication or requiring a vacant switch port. Two monitor sockets (M1 and M2) allow simultaneous, bidirectional monitoring of both communication directions at up to 100 Mbps, with error telegrams forwarded rather than rejected — ensuring complete and accurate capture for analysis tools such as the PROFINET-INspektor® NT or Wireshark on a connected laptop. All connection ports are located on the front panel for straightforward access in control cabinet installations.

For use in harsh environments or outside the control cabinet, the IP67-rated PNMX variant is available.

Key Features
Non-Reactive Network Access: Inserts into a live PROFINET or EtherNet/IP segment without affecting network communication, device behavior, or cycle times during telegram recording and analysis.

Bidirectional Monitoring: Two monitor ports (M1 and M2) provide simultaneous access to both communication directions, allowing time-correlated analysis of traffic from both ends of the monitored segment.

No Packet Loss: Supports all packet sizes and all protocols with no packet loss, including at full 100 Mbps bidirectional data rates, unlike switch port mirroring which can drop packets at high load.

No Switch Port Required: Connects inline between two network devices without consuming a switch port or requiring mirror port configuration at the switch, simplifying deployment during troubleshooting.

Error Telegram Forwarding: Defective telegrams are forwarded rather than filtered, ensuring diagnostic tools receive complete traffic including the error frames most relevant to fault analysis.

24VDC Output for Connected Tools: UOUT connector supplies 24VDC power to connected analysis tools, reducing the need for separate power connections at the measurement point.

Power Failure Safety: In the event of a power supply failure, PROFINET communication through the PNMA II remains intact, preventing network disruption from device power loss.

Common Applications
Connecting a PROFINET-INspektor® NT or laptop running Wireshark to a live PROFINET segment for non-reactive telegram recording and fault analysis during production.

Troubleshooting intermittent PROFINET communication errors where capturing both communication directions simultaneously is required to correlate error frames with network events.

Commissioning verification of PROFINET segments where full bidirectional traffic capture is needed without disrupting connected devices.

Permanent installation as a pre-wired access point for recurring diagnostic access to critical network segments without re-cabling.
