IAI America, Inc. is a manufacturer of Cartesian Coordinate and SCARA robots for factory automation. Providing a complete positioning system including motion controller, the company's "Intelligent Actuator" brand of products are used to position a wide variety of end-effectors including grippers, dispense heads, automatic screwdrivers and drills, and welding heads. Individual linear and rotary axes are also used extensively as an OEM product.

Elecylinder is a controller-integrated electric actuator specialized for two-point or three-point movement. (All Elecylinders have a built-in controller board.) Elecylinder was developed with the concepts of "Easy," "High Performance," and "Profitable."
"Easy": Setup is extremely simple and troublesome programming is unnecessary. Furthermore, because it uses the same ON/OFF control as air cylinders, it is ideal for replacing air cylinders.
"High Performance": Acceleration (A), Velocity (V), and Deceleration (D) can be individually set to arbitrary values, leading to shorter cycle times and a reduction in intermittent stoppages (chocotei).
"Profitable": Improved productivity due to shorter cycle times and reduced intermittent stoppages leads to company profits.
