Comau MATE XB is an innovative passive Exoskeleton that provides passive support to the lower back muscles used during lifting

Comau have developed MATE-XB, a new wearable exoskeleton specially designed to reduce lumbar strain during lifting operations and repetitive activities.
Without using motors or batteries, the MATE-XB exoskeleton provides passive support to the lower back muscles used during lifting and handling. It therefore creates short and long-term benefits for the wearer, thanks to a significant reduction in physical effort and fatigue.
This model of wearable exoskeleton stores the kinetic energy (due to the movement of the trunk) of the operator inside a spring, energy which is then returned as an aid in the phase of maximum effort.
It is therefore able to satisfy the specific needs of workers involved in moving bulky loads, supporting the person when bending their back and during repeated lifting, improving their quality of work.
Easy to put on and quickly adjustable, it can fit any body size; its lightweight carbon fiber structure is resistant to water, dust and the elements present in internal and external environments, even in highly corrosive marine environments.
Perfect for logistics, goods handling, manual picking and moving, bending tasks and lifting objects from floor level, MATE-XB replicates the operator's physiological movements to provide optimal
lumbar support without batteries, motors or other fault-prone devices. Its
intuitive and easy-to-use design grants the wearer full mobility; has a quick
set function, which allows users to adjust the exoskeleton without interrupting
the ongoing activity.
