Zimmer Group Automate 2025 Press Release

Hickory, NC – Zimmer Group, a leading manufacturer in the automation industry that specializes in grippers, tool changers, custom end-of-arm tooling, industrial shock absorbers, and linear clamping and braking elements, is exhibiting at the Automate Show in Detroit, Michigan at booth 4013. Show dates are May 12 to May 15 at Huntington Place. Zimmer Group will debut MILES, their autonomous mobile robot, for the first time in the U.S., along with introducing redesigned, lightweight tool changers, a complete new linear axis portfolio as well as vacuum gripping technology.

MILES is a complete system that combines hardware, software and servicing - from simulation and goods flow analysis for navigation, to fully automated fleet management including connection to ERP systems for the most in coordinated support in intralogistics processes. The various models offer 500 to 2000 kg load capacity and offer intelligent safety sensors, maneuverability even in confined spaces and long battery life. 

Zimmer Group will showcase Zimo, their flexible robot cell, which is compatible with a majority of cobots on the market. The mobile robot workstation consists of a cobot, end effector and mobile frame. It enables free and mobile positioning at various locations without the need for complex integration into existing systems. The company will also showcase a broad range of applications focusing on automotive, EV, pharmaceutical automation and palletizing solutions.
