V-625 US-Made Direct-Drive Ball Bearing Rotary Stage for Precision Industrial Automation

PI USA introduces a new series of motorized, direct-drive ball bearing rotary stages for 360° ultra-high precision rotation applications in industrial automation and research. A rotary stage (often also referred to as or rotation stage or rotary table), is a motion and positioning device designed to limit motion to a single axis of rotation (one degree of freedom) and precisely control the angular position around that axis.

The V-625, V-623 and V-622 series or rotary stages is designed to meet the demands of applications requiring highly precise rotary motion, as well as high torque, speed, and payload-carrying capacity. This is achieved through the use of friction-free, high performance torque motors and ultra-precise, deep-groove ball bearings that are preloaded and lubricated before delivery, ensuring maintenance-free operation with continuous 360° travel, for the entire lifetime of the rotation stage.

The brushless 3-phase torque motors provide ultra-smooth motion with a wide dynamic range and enable fast acceleration and high-speed motion. The series includes the V-622, V-623, and V-625 rotary stages, each with features and options that allow for seamless integration into multi-axis motion systems, sub-systems, and machines.

The V-62x series direct-drive rotation stages are designed with precision, high stiffness, long lifetime, and ease of use in mind. These stages can be mounted in any orientation and provide superior performance in terms of travel accuracy, flatness, and wobble.

The PIMag® direct-drive torque motor is an electromagnetic drive that eliminates mechanical components in the drivetrain and transfers drive force directly and friction-free to the motion platform of the rotary table allowing for high velocities, accelerations and fast step and settle.

Additionally, an optional absolute encoder is available, which provides explicit position information and eliminates the need for referencing when powering the rotary stage up, increasing both efficiency and safety during operation.

Ultra-High-Precision Air Bearing Rotary Spindles
For applications that require cleanroom specs and the highest possible geometric performance,  air bearing spindles such as the A-625 and A-637 series are recommended.

Motion controllers:
Single-axis and multi-axis motion controllers up to 8 axis per unit are available to drive the high-performance motorized rotation stages and facilitate integration into multi-axis automation systems.
