RTX64 Visual Studio 2015 with Customized Debug Support

POSTED 03/22/2016

Waltham, MA – KINGSTAR, whose RTX hard real-time software extension for Microsoft Windows provide cost and performance benefits in the development of intelligent systems, in industries ranging from Industrial Automation to Digital Media, now supports Visual Studio 2015 with its RTX64 product. RTX64 2014 with Service Pack 2 and Update 1 will allow for developing, building and debugging real-time applications in Visual Studio 2015.

“With RTX64 we introduced the only true, native 64-bit extension of the Windows operating system and remain the only vendor to deliver SMP RTOS capabilities on Windows. We developed RTX64 2014 to dovetail specifically with Windows 64-bit OS and with continued support for Microsoft products like Visual Studio 2015, it is an even more powerful and valuable product for our worldwide customers” said CEO Jeffrey Hibbard.

RTX64 2014 with support for Visual Studio 2015 on 64-bit Windows, you can create real-time applications and DLLs with provided templates and programs using the multithreaded static version of the Microsoft Visual Studio 2015 C Runtime libraries.

Moreover, the RTX64 integrated Visual Studio 2015 launch provider with real-time base debug monitor and Microsoft debug engine, empowers you to debug real-time applications running on dedicated cores locally and remotely within Visual Studio 2015. The user-visible feature that was supplied to Visual Studio by the Microsoft debug engine is now automatically provided.

“In industries that demand real-time, deterministic behavior, IntervalZero is leading the charge in delivering breakthrough results. The combination of Visual Studio 2015 and the real-time application development capabilities of RTX64 2014 enable developers building Industrial Automation, Digital Media and Medical System solutions to minimize costs, and deliver applications faster-to-market” — said Mitra Azizirad, General Manager, Developer Platform Marketing, Microsoft Corp.

KINGSTAR’s customer-centered philosophy, combined with more than three decades of embedded software innovation and the proven value of its RTX64 and RTX hard real-time software have enabled the company to build a global customer base of market-leading OEMs and end users in Industrial Automation, Medical Systems, Digital Media, Test & Measurement, Military & Aerospace, and other industries “The value of increased, directly accessible real-time memory within Windows, and the resulting superior performance, distinguishes RTX64 from virtualization alternatives and 32-bit based RTOS solutions,” Hibbard said. “This changes the economics of Industrial Automation equipment because all the proprietary real-time hardware can be replaced by software applications that run on x86 cores. This means that new functionality such as machine vision can be implemented at a fraction of the cost that was required before, and both quality and throughput can increase as well.”

KINGSTAR is a Microsoft Partner and was recognized as a leading Windows Embedded Partner worldwide in 2012, 2011, 2010, and 2009. KINGSTAR is a member of the Intel Embedded Alliance and RTX’s value in digital signal processing is featured on Intel.
