High Precision Motion Systems for MicroLED Manufacturing
POSTED 11/22/2021
MicroLED array displays are the future, better resolution, lower engergy consumption, less weight, smaller.
These arrays are made of microscopically small red, green, and blue LEDs, and each LED corresponds to one pixel on the display. Similar to OLED- and plasma displays, the pixels are self-luminescent (no need for background illumination), dimmable, and can be switched off completely. More information on Precision Motion Control and Positioning System Solutions for microLED manufacturing. Another important emerging field is quantum photonics and quantum computing, also supported by the motion engineers at PI.
In contrast to OLEDs, MicroLEDs are based on the gallium nitride technology, which offers a 30-times higher overall brightness as well as a higher efficiency in Lux/W and therefore a lower current consumption than OLEDs. Essential advantages of MicroLEDs are also the higher color saturation and lower sensitivity to oxygen and moisture, so that encapsulation is not required WEBINAR: MAY 6The Age of Cognitive Robots: How Do We Get There?
To meet the high demands for precision and speed, PI supports research groups and manufacturers worldwide with motion, control and software solutions, from granite based integrated engineered systems, to compact, high speed photonics alignment engines. With many years of experience in precision positioning, a wide range of technologies and a high level of vertical integration, PI is able to select the must suitable approach to solve the challenges customers are faced with. |
