Engineered Granite Motion Systems and Integrated Granite Systems from PI
POSTED 11/22/2021
Learn more on the difference of Integrated Granite Motion Systems vs Positioning Stages Mounted on a Granite Base
Integrated granite motion systems provide higher precision compared to stacking of individucal linear motion stages, rotary stages and other motion components. Designed right with the customer's application in mind the result is a high performance solution that will increase performance and throughput and reliability in automation applications in fields from semiconductor manufacturin to medical engineering. For the highest demanding applications, air bearing tables and slides are typically used. Positioning systems with crossed roller bearnings or linear ball bearings are also available.
A few examples of high performance integrated granite motion systems.
A flexible, multi-axis granite motion system, the X-417 platform, was recently added to provide machine builders and system integrators with shorter lead times based on scalable predefined system configurations. For multi-axis pick-and-place motion systems, laser processing, optical inspection or 3D printing applications, gantry stages, or cartesian linear robots are often the most efficient solution.
