Ultrasonic Motor Operating Principle PILine Linear / Rotary Piezo Motor
PI ultrasonic piezomotors are based on minute oscillations at inaudible frequencies (100’s of kHz) generated by a piezo actuator. Each cycle transfers nanoscopic motion to a linear or rotary ceramic surface bonded to a linear runner or rotary platform. Small rotary stages can be driven by a ring-shaped piezo-resonator. High angular velocities over 720deg /second can be achieved.
