Parker Introduces GVM142 Vehicle-duty Motors
The Global Vehicle Motor (GVM) Series of PMAC traction motors is the most comprehensive offering available and now includes an additional frame size
Parker’s Electromechanical Automation Division, a leading supplier of vehicle motor and electronics technology, is pleased to announce the second phase of its HEV motors: the GVM142.
The GVM142 generator and auxiliary motor series is a highly advanced electric machine intended to be used in electric and hybrid electric vehicle accessory applications. Pre-production units are being used and tested in major vehicle programs around the world for high-power alternator replacements as well as electrohydraulic pump control – such as power steering or aerial lift hydraulics.
Phase 2 includes the 142mm frame size with an SAE A adapter mount to be close coupled to hydraulic pumps. Within this frame size, there are 3 rotor lengths and dozens of winding variations. Those variations together allow the GVM142 to have more than 100 combinations of base speed and power output for ultimate scalability and fine-tuning to the vehicle’s exact power generation or electrohydraulic requirements.
Some key features of the GVM:
- Rated power from 2.6kW to 30kW+
- Rated torque up to 36Nm
- Rated speed range from 1600rpm to 9800RPM
- Peak power densities up to 3.7kw/kg
- Operating voltages from 24VDC to 800VDC
- SAE J1455 environmental standards
- Highly efficient rotor and stator design yielding up to 20% more usage time per kwhr
- Patent-pending cooling configuration uses WEG or ATF (oil)
- Manufactured in USA and Europe
“With the addition of this exciting product, Parker will be able to deliver an electric motor suitable for mobile power generation and electrohydraulic pumps that can be exactly matched to the vehicle’s needs," said Jay Schultz, Business Development Manager for Parker Hannifin ([email protected]). "Vehicle designers no longer have to compromise on a motor with performance that is 'close enough.'”

Future phases will include 310mm and 470mm frame sizes – all with the same scalability and high performance.
