Nexen Introduces New Compact Ring Drive 250B with Built-in Brake, Zero Backlash and Zero Added Envelope
POSTED 11/17/2017
Vadnais Heights, MN – Nexen Group, Inc. introduces the patent pending , an expansion of the company’s innovative Compact Ring Drive (CRD) system. The 250B includes a built-in zero backlash locking/brake design that delivers twice the nominal torque without increasing the CRD footprint. It is extraordinarily durable, with a brake life of 1 million cycles, and requires little to no maintenance. The CRD 250B is ideal for applications including cutting systems, automated welding, medical packaging, robotics, and semiconductor. The CRD 250B brake is spring engaged and pneumatically released so that it will default to lock in a power failure or emergency situation. Nexen has also made air line management easy with radial slots for cable/line routing and pneumatic bard fitting installed.
Highlights of the CRD 250B include:
- Holding torque: 800Nm
- Maximum release pressure: 60 psi
- Thru hole: 31.7 mm ~ 1.25 inches
- Fully sealed IP65-rated housing
- E-stop capable
The Nexen CRD has a precision grade bearing and drive mechanism in sealed housing. Freely programmable, the three-drive design configurations allow the CRD to be optimized for high speed (up to 225 RPM), high torque or both, depending on the application. With a 250 or 350 mm dial plate bolt circle diameter and a large open center, users can optimize performance in a small space. The combination of Nexen’s roller pinion technology with integrated bearing and motor/gearhead deliver a rigid, smooth system with zero backlash options from the motor through the driven load.
