New M500U Unit Load AGV from Daifuku

Daifuku is pleased to introduce a new addition to the Automatic Guided Vehicle (AGV) line of vehicles, the M500U Unit Load. This new compact AGV, which can carry loads up to 4,000 pounds, is available with conveyor decks or lifts to accommodate the customer’s specific needs. It is ideal for the Warehousing and Distribution markets.

The M500U vehicle utilizes center-mounted drive wheels so it can pivot in its center. Steering is accomplished by changing the difference in speed between the two drive wheels. The slower drive wheel becomes the inner drive wheel of the turn, and the faster wheel is the outer. This methodology is known as differential drive steering.

Vehicle and load stability is accomplished with the use of trunnions to always keep both drive wheels and casters on the floor, even while going over uneven floors.

The M500U’s dimensions are  48” (1219 mm) W x 78 9/16” (1996 mm) L x 11 1/4” (286 mm) H. Access to serviceable items is achieved using a space-saving slide-out drawer.

The first fleet is currently being built for one of our automotive customers and we see great possibilities with this new product line.
