POSTED 10/21/2013
UXBRIDGE, MA – Leading global manufacturer of electrical and mechanical drives, motion control and automation technology, Lenze Americas, headquartered in Uxbridge, MA, has received the Community Beacon Award from Alternatives, a non-profit organization that provides services to individuals with disabilities. The Community Beacon Award recognizes individuals, staff and community members that have made significant contributions to the Alternatives agency and the people it serves.
"We are delighted and honored to receive the Community Beacon Award,” states Jack Caruso, logistics/facilities manager, Lenze Americas. “We applaud Alternatives for the wonderful enrichment programs and employment experiences they offer people who might otherwise not have such opportunities.”
Lenze Americas was presented with the award at Alternatives’ 37th Annual Thank You Reception held in Boxboro, MA in September. Over 700 people attended the reception and were on hand to recognize Lenze Americas for its generosity and involvement with the Blackstone Valley Employment Service (BVES).
Several years ago, Lenze Americas reached out to Alternatives with a donation of sports-related clothing and memorabilia, in addition to supporting other activities. This year the company provided a four week employment opportunity for BVES participants. Alternatives’ Job Developer John Tower said, “This was an extremely positive experience for all concerned. Everyone at Lenze Americas was very welcoming and very appreciative. We look forward to more partnership opportunities.”
“As a global company we consider it a privilege to support the local communities in which Lenze does business. It has been very rewarding to work with those served by Alternatives’ important programs,” adds Louise Levasseur, supply chain manager, Lenze Americas.
