Dramatic increase in demand for CW Bearing’s flex bearings over the last few years

While CW Bearing has experienced difficulties brought on by the global pandemic like other companies, the demand for their flex bearings has hit triple-digit levels. We talked with Kyle Weyers (Director of Industrial Sales), the industrial sales team, and engineering team at CW to find out why.

What would you say is the top reason that CW customers like our flex bearings and continue to buy them from us?

It is the quality and the delivery time. Lead time is critical for our customers for these bearings. Few other manufacturers deliver this type of bearing at a high-quality level, in about half the time as our competition.

Can you elaborate on “lead time is critical”?

The supply chain difficulties of the last few years have changed the way that companies select their vendors. We know that companies lost business because they could not source a particular part or material on time, and then deliver their product to the market. Conversely, companies won pieces of business because of short lead times.

Knowing that CW has a lead time that is two to three times shorter than other bearing manufacturers offers flexibility to our customers that other bearing manufacturers cannot match.

Beyond quality and lead times, what is unique about CW Bearing?

We would have to say our customization and responsiveness. We offer full engineering support to customize the bearings for the needs of their application, such as altering geometries or curving profiles a bit. We are more flexible than some of the other well-known brands. And we tend to be more attentive to them as well. The engineering and technical support is the same (or better) and has been noted by the customers’ engineering teams.

So, would you say CW’s flexibility has helped lead to the increase in the demand for the flex bearing?
