Next Evolution in Law Enforcement: Cincoze DX-1100 Powers Police In-vehicle Surveillance System

Introduction

As cities become smarter and more advanced, the role of police cars equipped with in-vehicle surveillance becomes increasingly important for maintaining safety. By connecting the surveillance system of these cars to the city data center, they can provide accurate support for managing traffic and responding to emergencies. Thanks to the onboard AI analysis system, these cars can quickly identify and report stolen or suspicious vehicles, which helps to combat crime. With the ongoing progress of technology, the integration between police vehicle surveillance and urban infrastructure is becoming more and more seamless, resulting in a safer and more efficient living environment for all citizens.

A European military equipment manufacturer chose the Cincoze DX-1100 industrial computer to combine with their own system equipment and software application. This system is designed to realize functions such as video capture, recording, positioning, and ANPR (automatic number plate recognition). These features provide police surveillance evidence collection and retrieval, which can be monitored locally or at the headquarters, and can also be stored and backed up in the cloud. The system improves the efficiency of front-line law enforcement by transforming vast quantities of image data into intelligent and actionable information.

Customer Requirements

High-performance Computer
When it comes to police in-vehicle surveillance systems, it is imperative to have a high-performance computer at its core. This computer needs to be able to process a large amount of data quickly, such as capturing images and video, and performing ANPR. All of this data must then be processed, labeled, and uploaded to the cloud. 

Various I/O and Wireless Transmission
The industrial computer installed in the police car must have a variety of I/O and communication interfaces. It should be able to connect to multiple high-definition cameras through PoE and display their output on the screen. Additionally, it must support GNSS positioning and 4G LTE wireless network transmission for real-time information sharing and navigation. 

In-vehicle Environmental Tolerance
As these computers are constantly exposed to the conditions in the automotive environment, such as shock, vibration, and extreme temperatures, it's essential that industrial computers are used to ensure reliable and stable computing performance. And, because there may be other electronic equipment in the vehicle, EMC protection is also necessary to ensure the normal operation of all equipment and systems.

And for wireless support, the DX-1100 provides a SIM card slot, three full-size Mini-PCIe slots, and an M.2 Key E 2230 slot with Intel® CNVi technology, which can support 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, GNSS, and Bluetooth modules to provide instant data transmission to the cloud or control center.

Industrial-grade Rugged Design
The DX-1100 is also built to withstand tough industrial environments. It is fanless, cableless, and has an aluminum unibody chassis, among other rugged design features. It can operate in a wide temperature range from -40 to 70°C, and its shock and vibration resistance can reach 50G/5G. Furthermore, it has passed various safety and environmental certifications, making it suitable for a wide range of applications, including those in vehicles and railway computing environments. Certifications include IEC 62368-1, E-Mark for automobile and motorcycle safety and environmental protection, and EN 50155 (EN 50121-3-2 only) for railway EMC.
