Air Filter Error Detection: Surface Damage Inspection with Deep Learning
Challenge
Traditional rule-based image processing methods struggle with air filter inspection because variations in surface structure and light reflection make it difficult to reliably distinguish defects from normal patterns. Additionally, the high natural variance between individual filters increases the risk of missed defects or false detections.
Solution
To overcome these challenges, senswork implemented ViDi Detect, a deep learning–based inspection system. This approach enables accurate surface inspection by learning from examples rather than relying on fixed rules. The system is capable of identifying even small structural deviations across complex surfaces, maintaining high detection performance despite variations in individual parts. By leveraging deep learning, the solution adapts to changing conditions and consistently differentiates between acceptable variations and true defects.
