Description

Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and development of custom lift assist, ergonomic improvement, and automation solutions. This role is responsible for mechanical concepts, detailed design, and engineering execution from initial customer requirements through final release. The ideal candidate brings strong machine design experience, creativity, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, custom automation environment.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead mechanical design efforts for custom automation, lift assist, and ergonomic equipment
  • Develop 3D and 2D CAD models and drawings using NX, SolidWorks, Creo, or CATIA
  • Create layouts, assemblies, and detailed manufacturing drawings to meet project timelines
  • Apply standard and reference designs to efficiently develop new solutions
  • Collaborate with customers, project managers, and manufacturing teams to ensure design intent and functionality
  • Perform engineering calculations and material selection to meet performance and safety requirements
  • Create and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs)
  • Support troubleshooting, design refinement, and continuous improvement initiatives

Minimum Skills & Abilities

  • Strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles and machine design
  • Advanced proficiency in CAD software
  • Experience in automation, manufacturing, or custom machine design environments
  • Ability to independently drive designs from concept through release
  • Experience contributing to or leading project-based engineering efforts
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools

Minimum Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred
  • Associate’s degree with 3+ years of design experience, or
  • 5+ years of relevant mechanical design experience
  • Experience with Teamcenter and NX is a plus
