Unlocking the potential of AI
POSTED 04/10/2024
Artificial intelligence (AI) ushers in a new age of technology. But how do you bring trust and AI together? At this year’s World Economic Forum 2024 in Davos, the focus in the AI House was on AI. SCHUNK joined a panel of experts to discuss how the potential can be best exploited.
The enthusiasm for artificial intelligence was omnipresent in Davos. The AI House has fully dedicated itself to this topic: representatives of politics, science, and industry came together here on the fringes of the World Economic Forum from January 15 to 19, 2024 to discuss the impact on the world in a global dialog. AI has the potential to fundamentally change the way we work, live, and interact. The challenge will be to use the technology in such a way that it enriches our society and does not harm it. There is still a lack of globally applicable and binding regulations to ensure the responsible use of technology are still lacking.
Network for new ecosystems
In numerous discussion rounds at the AI House, the topic was examined from all angles over five days – from current state of development with promising solutions to its contribution to overcoming the biggest environmental challenges of our time and ethical boundaries.
In the panel discussion “Unlocking the Potential of AI for Global Hidden Champions,” Dr. Frauke Goll (Managing Director - Applied AI Institute for Europe gGmbH), Prof. Cr. Helmut Krcmar (Co-Owner, ITM GmbH and Head of KrcmarLab, TUM), Patrick Eichenseer (Head of Operational Excellence - DEHN SE) and Timo Gessmann (CTO, SCHUNK SE & Co. KG), moderated by Daniel Gottschald (Managing Director of TUM Campus Heilbronn gGmbH), discussed how AI can help SMEs to remain competitive and fit for the future.
The openness and enthusiasm for the opportunities offered by AI were evident throughout the event. The task is now to set the right course together. This can be achieved by networking in emerging ecosystems, such as the new Innovation Park Artificial Intelligence (Ipai) in Heilbronn. As a pioneer, SCHUNK is therefore actively involved in the practical implementation of responsible AI solutions at Ipai.
