Will Artificial Intelligence Make a Smarter Digital Enterprise?

Imagine a world where intelligent machines and humans work harmoniously together—where the whole of our work is greater than the sum of its parts. As you walk through today’s manufacturing facilities, there is a clear segregation between robots and humans as industrial automation lives in cages or on separate lines away from their human worker counterparts. But new types of advancements in automation provide opportunities for machines, best highlighted by robotics, to become much more sensor-rich, intelligent and capable and they promise to revolutionize manufacturing across the supply chain. Machine learning, a promising branch of artificial intelligence (AI) where our machines begin to learn by themselves, is quickly finding homes throughout our factories.
