A3 Educator of the Year Award
The A3 Educator of the Year Award seeks to honor individuals who have demonstrated exemplary commitment, innovation and dedication to shaping the next generation of professionals in this dynamic and rapidly evolving industry through teaching. It recognizes educators, secondary or postsecondary, who are committed to delivering high-quality robotics and automation programs, demonstrating innovation in teaching methods, student development and leadership in improving smart manufacturing.

Candidates for the A3 Educator of the Year Award will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

- Innovation: The educator should demonstrate a clear ability to innovate in the classroom, trying new ideas while going above and beyond job expectations.
- Commitment to Growth: The educator should show a continuing commitment to personal and professional growth by demonstrating that they can illustrate current advanced manufacturing and IIoT trends as well as able to instruct and inspire their students in the latest robotics and automation trends and technologies.
- Motivation and Inspiration: The educator should have a demonstrated ability to motivate and inspire students.
- Subject Matter Mastery: The educator should have a deep understanding of the subject matter they teach and be able to effectively communicate it to students.
A3 Educator of the Year Selection Process
The evaluation of award nominations will be performed by a Selection Committee made up of members of the A3 Education Committee. Our esteemed Selection Committee is dedicated to reviewing nominations, conducting follow-up interviews, engaging in discussions, and ultimately casting their votes to determine the recipient. Upon selection, the recipient will be notified and invited to attend Educator Day to accept the award.
Review Nominations
Selection Committee reviews all nomination submissions and compiles a list of follow-up questions.
Candidate Interviews
Selection Committee member interviews top candidates and obtains answers to the questions and shares with the Selection Committee. Data compiled confidentially by assigned A3 Education Staff under the direction of the A3 President.
Vote
Selection Committee votes for top three (3) nominees.
Committee Discussion
Top three (3) nominees are discussed by the Selection Committee Members during a conference call.
Final Vote
Selection Committee submits results of up to three (3) Final Nominees (in order of preference) to A3 Education Committee for final, confidential vote. If there are fewer nominees or a clear choice, then the Selection Committee will only propose one (1) nominee.
Results Submitted
Selection Committee submits results to A3 Education Committee.
Recipient of the 2024 A3 Educator of the Year will receive
- $1000 Stipend
- Commemorative plaque presented by the Award Sponsor during Educator Day at the Automate Show
- Recognition on the A3 website and social media
