About the grant:

The Association for Advancing Automation (A3) was awarded $299,241 for the 2023 Market Development Cooperator Program (MDCP) grant. A3 is utilizing the MDCP award to support U.S. robotics and automation companies in expanding their exports of equipment and services globally. Partnering with a team of International Trade Administration (ITA) staff based both in the target markets and the United States, A3 connects U.S. companies with prospective partners and buyers of robotics and automation products and services in Mexico, India, and other countries around the globe. Jaron Bass, Advanced Manufacturing Lead, International Trade Administration

Jaron Bass is the advanced manufacturing lead with the International Trade Administration’s (ITA) Office of Transportation and Machinery (OTM). OTM’s objective is to support the U.S. industrial base by: developing and recommending U.S. policy positions for multilateral and bilateral discussions that ensure U.S. companies are safeguarded from unfair trading practices; providing information, trade data, and industry analysis to the U.S. business community, policymakers, and trade negotiators; maintaining close liaison with U.S. firms to focus and construct programs that enhance U.S. industry's competitiveness; and providing export assistance, including advocacy and business counseling, to help companies penetrate new markets, increase market share, and resolve specific market obstacles.

In OTM, Jaron manages the development of ITA’s advanced manufacturing portfolio, which includes robotics, additive manufacturing, advanced materials, and related digital services.
