Optimizing Automation Machine Development Using Open Standards (CodeSys & Ethernet POWERLINK)
Originally Recorded April 12, 2016 | 2:00 PM ET
ABOUT THIS WEBINAR
Machine builders globally are facing increasing pressure to build machines with more features, better performance, higher reliability and lower cost. The ability for a machine builder to use experience, reuse IP and proven standards is critical in meeting these market pressures. IEC 61131-3 provides industry standard languages (Sequential Function Chart language, Instruction List, Ladder Diagram, Function Block Diagram and Structured Text) for developing machine control logic.
This talk will address how OEMs can use these industry open standards, seamlessly integrated into one programming environment (CodeSys), to create highly customized machine controllers.
We will also demonstrate how the open source communication standard, Ethernet POWERLINK, is integrated into this environment to provide the highest real-time performance for motion control.
Webinar Presenters: Sari Germanos, B&R Industrial Automation and Dimitri Phillippe, BE.services GmbH
