Allied Vision Technologies at Robots, Vision & Motion Control Show

POSTED 06/09/2009

Following up on the successful Vision Show in Phoenix, the leading machine vision camera manufacturer presents its new FireWire and GigE Vision portfolio in Chicago.

After introducing its new FireWire and GigE product line-up at the Vision Show in Phoenix, AZ two months ago, Allied Vision Technologies will be exhibiting at the Robots, Vision and Motion Control Show in Chicago, IL, from June 9-11, 2009. Visitors to the Chicago Show will be able to discover the new AVT resulting from the integration of GigE Vision™ pioneer,  Prosilica.

New Cameras With More Resolution, More Sensitivity…and Lower Cost
As in Phoenix, Allied Vision Technologies will display a new expanded product range featuring AVT FireWire cameras, Prosilica GigE cameras and new models with both interfaces. Highlights include the Guppy F-503, Stingray F-504 and Pike F-505, all high-resolution FireWire cameras with 5-Megapixel sensors focusing respectively on low cost and small housing (Guppy), modularity (Stingray) and speed (Pike). The flagship of the range in terms of resolution remains the Prosilica GE4900 Gigabit Ethernet camera with 16 Megapixel sensor.

For applications requiring high sensitivity, Allied Vision Technologies introduces several new FireWire and GigE Vision cameras with Sony ExView HAD image sensors: the Stingray F-125 (IEEE1394b) and the Prosilica GC660, GC1290 and GC1380 (GigE Vision).

Last , but not least, AVT will present its answer to the recession with a new low-cost GigE Vision™ compliant camera, the Prosilica GC780. This SVGA-camera offers great value for an extremely low price in the GigE segment.

North-American Expansion
At the Vision Show in Phoenix, Allied Vision Technologies announced its expansion plans for North America. In the course of the acquisition of the Canadian company, Prosilica, of Burnaby, British Columbia last year, AVT Inc. now assumes responsibilities for the sales network in North America for both AVT FireWire cameras and Prosilica GigE Vision™ cameras.

The headquarters, located in Newburyport, MA has been expanded by 30% and a new sales team with two new regional sales managers is now operational under the supervision of Michael Troiano.

“Surely these are difficult times due to the global economic crisis, but fortunately our business remains relatively stable in North America because of the broad diversification of our sales into market segments that are not impacted as heavily as industrial image processing, such as medical imaging”, explains Michael Cyros, CEO of Allied Vision Technologies Inc., the company’s North-American operations. “In spite of the economic downturn, AVT has a sound financial structure and keeps investing to strengthen its position in the market with state-of-the art products and first-class service.”
