Ten-Megapixel Camera Combines Best-in-Class Features with Unmatched Affordability
POSTED 03/09/2011
WOBURN, MA -- IDS GmbH, a global leader in machine vision technology, today unveiled its most affordable 10-megapixel USB 2.0 color camera.

Designed for applications ranging from parts inspection to microscopy, the new uEye? UI1495LE-C camera incorporates an Aptina? 1/2-inch CMOS progressive scan sensor in 10 Megapixel resolution (3840 x 2748 pixels) or four times the resolution of HDTV. With the added features of Binning, Subsampling and AOI, the camera delivers frame rates up to 14.94 frames/sec. at 1920 x 1080 HD resolution and 47.37 FPS at 800 x 600 resolution. Maximum frame rate in freerun mode is 3 fps.
The UI1495LE-C offers OEMs and integrators a high-precision imaging solution that can be interfaced into any USB 2.0 equipped component for the most efficient factory workflow, whether a PC, notebook, IPC or embedded system.
Application flexibility is further enhanced by the camera's ultra-compact ABS housing, which measures a mere 44mm x 44 mm x 25.4mm (H x W x D) and features C/CS lens mount with adjustable flange back distance.
"Customers today want more options in a camera to tailor systems for optimized performance," explained Joe Cook, National Sales Manager for IDS North America. "We've ideally met that requirement with the UI-1495LE-C, and at an affordable price point under $1,000."
Adding to the camera's value proposition is a comprehensive software package with drivers for Microsoft® Windows® 2000/XP/Vista/7, and Linux. Also included are interfaces for various image processing packages, standard drivers such as DirectShow (WDM), a GenICam interface, as well as the IDS Software Development Kit (SDK) that supports the programming languages integrators use most: C, C++, C#, Microsoft .NET and Visual Basic. IDS also provides 3rd party software drivers for ActivVision Tools, Common Vision Blox, HALCON, LabView, VisionPro and NeuroCheck.
