Linear Translation Assemblies
TECHSPEC Cage System Linear Translation Assemblies can add linear translation to TECHSPEC Optical Cage Systems setups. They are available in simple translation, using 6 mm rods and standard plates and ball bearing translation, with ball bearing slides for low-friction translation. The compact design is configurable for 1/2-inch or 1-inch travel and fine translation cane be achieved with the addition of micrometer drive.
Michelson Interferometer
The TECHSPEC Optical Cage System is an ideal solution for creating a Michelson Interferometer because, with the cage system rods supporting the structure, only minimal alignment is needed in the optics' tip-tilt and in the distance between the two mirrors and the beamsplitter. "With a typical Michelson Interferometer set-up designed on a breadboard, precision alignment is crucial, but difficult to achieve. The compact, user-friendly Optical Cage System allows for easy adjustment of all the instrument's parameters, from a linear micrometer to adjust the path length difference to a three knob tip-tilt mount to align the mirrors - all while using fewer parts," said Amr Khalil, Product Line Manager, Edmund Optics.
Digital Video Microscope
A customized digital fluorescence microscope can be built with TECHSPEC Optical Cage System components, allowing the user limitless customization options with a simpler assembly. Magnification can be modified by changing objectives and interchangeable filter holders make swapping filters easy. Custom illumination and a spectrometer may also be added.
Using the TECHSPEC Optical Cage System makes alignment simple and easy. An autocollimator can be assembled and aligned in just a few short steps. Optics can be easily swapped out, which allows the user to quickly change the field of view and resolution. A camera may also be added in place of the eyepiece for image capture or video capability.
