SVL Hires Vision Sales Veteran Andy Reed to Pursue New Markets

rt Vision Lights is pleased to announce that Andy Reed has joined us as our Business Development & Lighting Safety Director. He brings 20 years of vision and automation sales experience to SVL. Andy’s 20 year career has exposed him to all aspects of our market. Andy began his career at USDATA where he began as a Sales Engineer and was promoted to Director of Sales. Then he moved onto RVSI-Acuity-CiMatrix, and managed distribution sales and business development in their central region. In his next role Andy helped start-up company, Phoenix Automation Group become one of the most successful DVT distributors in the United States through its direct sales and by fostering relationships with integration partners and consultants. Phoenix was then purchased by the McNaughton/McKay Electric Company for their vision & automation expertise. At Mac & Mac Andy thrived in a similar role, winning the DVT “Harley Award” and received the Cognex “Top Gun” award as top salesperson in North and South America. SVL looks forward to benefiting from Andy’s plethora of positive experience and growing our business into new markets with a level of professionalism and an air of excitement.

One of Andy’s primary objectives will be photobiological safety for LED illuminators with a large focus to grow the awareness and understanding of the new IEC62471 safety standard requirements already established in Europe and expanding worldwide. Smart Vision Lights has partnered with Intertek as part of their satellite laboratory program. Our new on-sight laboratory has been certified by Intertek as a fully functional testing facility for LED safety compliances for existing and forthcoming global standards. Intertek is a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL). In compliance with IEC62471, Smart Vision Lights has tested all of its products for “Photobiological Safety of Lamps and Lamp Systems”. Our facility has the ability to test any LED based illumination source for anyone.
