Research Award in Robotics Base for Flexible Teams
POSTED 04/15/2010
For the 4th time the Swedish robotics initiative Robotdalen arranges the international research competition Robotdalen Scientific Award. The winner receives €20.000 and the finalists make valuable contacts with Swedish robotics researchers and industry. The finalists also become members of Robotdalens “Flexible teams” an international network for people with key competences within robotics, automation, innovation and product development.
A jury with researchers from USA, Canada and Sweden name the winner of the Robotdalen Scientific Award, says Lennart Karlsson, Internationalization Manager in Robotdalen. Deadline for the competition is May 31, 2010 and the winner is announced on Robotdalen Day in Örebro, Sweden, on September 7. The award is one of many ways where we unite Swedish researchers and industry with the rest of the world.
Flexible teams – bringing people together
Robotdalen focuses on three areas in the internationalization process:
- Strategic recruiting to universities and companies
- Partnerships and networks
- New company establishments in the region
The forming of an international network of people with key competences, bringing experts together into so called Flexible teams, is one initiative when it comes to partnerships and networks. The aim is supporting projects and innovators with the right people and expertise at the right time, supporting new robotics innovations within research and product development.
In 2009 Robotdalen was proud to announce its first international company establishment when the health robotics company Giraff moved all its operations from the US to Robotdalen to further develop and launch their robot Giraff in the home care market.
Giraff is a very good example of working with flexible teams connecting researchers with innovators and industrial contacts to cooperate in bringing a robotics idea to the market, says Lennart Karlsson, Internationalization Manager at Robotdalen. Through the Robotdalen Scientific Award young researchers will join our flexible teams getting the opportunity to work with new robotics ideas in a way they’ve never done before.
