Piab Offers Improved Flap-free Vacuum Ejector
POSTED 05/17/2017
Piab is introducing a new proprietary two-stage vacuum ejector technology that offers efficiency improvements as well as a performance boost. The new STX ejector is initially introduced as an alternative technology in the company's piINLINE®plus and piSTAMP vacuum generators.
Specially developed in-house by Piab's vacuum ejector specialists, the STX technology offers a performance boost compared with single-stage vacuum ejectors, enabling an efficiency improvement in terms of air consumption of between 10 and 15 percent compared with traditional single-stage ejectors.
”The flap-free design of the new two-stage STX ejector makes it highly robust and able to operate in very dirty and dusty environments. There are no internal flap valves in the ejector onto which dirt and dust can collect. This is, of course, a great advantage for the maintenance of automated vacuum handling systems operating in busy industrial settings,” says Josef Karbassi, Vice President of Piab's Automation Division.
Initially, the new STX ejector technology is offered as an alternative to Piab's highly efficient multi-stage COAX® technology in two of the company's generator lines, notably the configurable platform for decentralised vacuum generation piINLINE®plus, which offers ideal solutions particularly for automotive manufacturers. Tailor-made for automotive press-shop automation, the piINLINE®plus generators feature ports for compressed air and vacuum in-line, and quick-fit push-in connectors of varying diameter. Additionally, Piab's ejectors are ultra-lightweight, allowing for being mounted directly onto the hose, close to the point of suction. The scope for the new STX technology will eventually be extended to also include other generator lines and applications.
Piab's new STX vacuum ejector technology also offers a boost to the integrated and very fast performing Exhaust Block Release (EBR) mechanism used in piINLINE®plus vacuum generators.
