igus Retains 95 Percent of its Stock of Cable Carriers, Cables and Plastic Bearings

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. – September 2, 2008 – Cost-savings, time-to-market and smaller manufacturing volumes are critical issues for engineering companies. igus® Inc., a developer and manufacturer of motion control products for the automation industry, recognizes this by offering standard, off-the-shelf products with no minimum order.

igus’ plastic cable carriers, continuous-flex cables, polymer plain bearings and linear guides, are readily available. The company retains 95 percent of its product in stock, saving its customers time and money. The high-performance plastic components also cost less than metal and bronze alternatives and last longer, thereby further decreasing the cost/investment ratio.

“With cost, time and service life being the main issues on the minds’ of most engineers and purchasing agents, it is important that igus lets its customers know about its extensive off-the-shelf solutions,” said Carsten Blase, vice president of igus Inc. “From our maintenance-free cable carriers to our corrosion-resistant linear guides, we not only deliver products that surpass the performance of our competitors, but we also offer virtually no lead-time and a guarantee to ship out within 24 to 48 hours.”

igus manufactures Energy Chain® cable carriers to guide and protect cables and hoses on automated machinery, Chainflex® continuous-flex cables specifically designed with Energy Chains in mind, iglide® plastic, plain bearings, igubal® spherical bearings and DryLin® linear bearings, guides and slide tables. Across its five lines, igus offers more than 28,000 products. Its iglide suite of plastic bearings features 8,000 imperial and metric bearing sizes from stock in 20 different material blends.
