OCTOPUZ Releases V1.7

The latest update for OCTOPUZ has just been released, and Version 1.7 comes packed with new features and enhancements. Read on for a comprehensive list of what you can look forward to in OCTOPUZ V1.7, including robot code importing, NC code importing, an all-new tool manager, URP program generation for UR robots, as well as the exciting addition of SmartPath, which provides automated methods of orientating the robot and making changes to solve conflicts. This update is available to all users currently on Maintenance.

OCTOPUZ Core:

  • SmartPath
    • Provides users with an automated method for determining the orientation of the robot to complete the path
    • Orientation changes are made based on conflicts detected including joint limits, joint multi-turns, collisions and reach limitations
  • New post supporting Universal URP
  • Additional post function calls to allow for further customization
  • Updates to Panasonic, Nachi, OTC, Yaskawa and KUKA posts
  • Improved autopositioner functionality
  • Robot code importing
    • Ability to take existing programs off of the robot and import the coordinate data into the software
  • Import base/tool frames, joint limits and external frames
