New Materials Added to Bosch Rexroth Factory Automation Resource Kit
POSTED 08/28/2014
Bosch Rexroth has just released a major update to its Advancing Factory Automation Kit, one of six popular educational kits in its resource kit series.
Drawing on the company’s deep experience in factory automation applications across multiple industry segments, the kit features new case studies, technical papers and links to recently updated YouTube videos and product literature. The kit provides a wealth of useful content targeted at machine builders, system integrators and manufacturers involved in developing and using automated production systems. Now included with the new version of the digital kit is a special publication: a Machine Tool Application Excerpt drawn from a safety engineering guidebook created by Bosch Rexroth. 10 steps to performance level: Handbook for the implementation of functional safety according to ISO 13849 is a 250+ page authoritative guide that provides automation engineers with a detailed, 10-step process for implementing Rexroth Safety on Board technology according to the standards and directives associated with the International Standards Organization (ISO) 13849 safety directive.
The Machine Tool Application Excerpt is a useful overview of the design of safety-related control systems for machine tools and a preview of the contents of the complete handbook.
Packaged on a USB drive, the kit combines documents and resources loaded on the drive with links to useful technical information and planning tools on the Bosch Rexroth website.
The kit’s materials are drawn from Bosch Rexroth’s extensive library of customer application case studies, expert technical papers, current product brochures, links to state-of-the-art engineering and design tools, and the company’s latest videos -- carefully selected and combined into one convenient digital package.
The Advancing Factory Automation Kit includes:
- Industrial Ethernet: Key advantages of Sercos III -- A detailed discussion by Rexroth automation engineers on how Sercos is becoming the automation bus of choice because it offers a simple, efficient architecture that merges proven real-time motion control messaging mechanisms with the Ethernet physical layer and protocol.
- Case Studies -- Multiple new stories covering industries such as medical packaging and automated machining, detailing how Rexroth drive systems and motion control platforms offer new levels of flexibility and productivity in real-world applications in operation today.
- Useful Videos – Quick links to the latest videos on Bosch Rexroth’s YouTube channel, with demos of new automation technology such as vibration damping and Sytronix variable speed pump-drive systems.
- Extensive Product Literature -- Links to the latest Rexroth literature using factory automation systems, including safety technology, new Open Core Engineering material, and cabinet-free drive technology.
This updated kit complements the existing array of Resource Kits covering mobile technology, lean production and automation, linear motion and mechatronics, packaging and printing and industrial hydraulics topics. All the Resource Kits are free to order from Bosch Rexroth.
