ATI's 5th Annual Open House and Technology Training Fair" src="/userassets/riauploads/ATI_Open-House_2011.jpg" />This is a reminder about ATI Industrial Automation’s upcoming 5th Annual Open House and Technology Training Fair at its Detroit Michigan office on Thursday, August 18th. Detailed information on each training topic, as well as a nearby plant tour has been added! See below. Learn about all of the latest robotic end-effector products that have been developed by ATI over the last year. Other topics will include existing, cost-effective, state-of-the-art ATI products and solutions that can increase the productivity of your robots and surpass your automation needs. ATI's Account Managers and Engineers will be on-hand to discuss your application and end-effector requirements. Several live demonstrations of ATI's Robotic Tool Changers, Robotic Collision Sensors, Robotic Deburring Tools, and Force/Torque Sensors will run throughout the day. Food and refreshments will be available all day.

If you have not done so, please register to attend. You will need to indicate which sessions you want to attend PLUS if you plan to take advantage of the AMT plant tour.

The hours for the open house are 8:30am until 5:00pm, but you can visit AMT/Adaptive as early as 8:00am. Topics include:
  • New Product Developments: 9:00am - 10:00am  A look at the latest advances in robotic end-effectors and their applications that ATI has developed over the last year, including Utility Couplers, Through-Hole Tool Changers, Robotic Tool Changers used in special environments, Tool Changer Utility Modules, Force/Torque Sensor products, and a brief look at products currently under development.
  • Solutions - How Customers Are Using ATI Products: 10:30am - 11:30am  Specific application examples of how customers have benefited from ATI products. Presentations from customers that have actually used our products in unusual applications!  Presentations by KUKA Systems – Tool Changer deployment in aerospace robotic applications, Valiant – Industrial parts washer utilizing Tool Changers, Thierica – Advancements in paint system design using Tool Changers, and Kaufman – Tool Changers utilized in packaging systems.
  • Product Selection and Website Navigation: 12:45pm - 1:45pm  Making the most of ATI’s website for product and module specifications, drawings, and models. Everything you ever needed to know and more!
  • Bus Networks for Tool Changers: 2:30pm - 3:30pm  Trends in Automotive Tool Changer applications with an overview of current bus network types, their advantages and disadvantages and ATI Tool Changer products that support these network standards. Emphasis on “Quick Connect” for Ethernet and PROFINET. Presentations by Siemens, Rockwell, Turck, and Molex.
AMT/Adaptive Tour: During the open house and only a few blocks away, there will be live large robotic demonstrations with ATI products. AMT is North America’s largest automation engineering company for supporting robot companies, systems integrators, line builders, and users of robotic automation worldwide. AMT will offer a live demonstration of a flexible, two-robot cell utilizing ATI tool change equipment. The cell was originally developed for use in the evaluation and application of Siemens Virtual Commissioning capabilities within their Tecnomatix software. The cell utilizes common components and architecture seen in today’s manufacturing environments and offers AMT insight into the continued evolution of advanced digital manufacturing tools.

Located within the same facility as AMT, Adaptive Systems is a Turnkey Systems Integrator that specializes in the design and build of custom automation, commonly involving technically-challenging robotic applications with 2D and/or 3D vision. Adaptive Systems is an authorized System Integrator/Partner for several robot manufacturers and executes projects in a full range of process areas including: Material Handling, Pick/Pack/Palletize, Inspection, and  Machine Load/Unload. A tour of Adaptive Systems integration floor will highlight a turnkey system performing structured robotic bin picking of brake rotor castings.

Transportation will be provided between locations. Attendees are welcome to visit AMT/Adaptive Systems on their own.
