mvBlueLYNX-X smart camera – Developing Linux applications on Windows

POSTED 09/16/2013

v>Mono development workflowRunning C# programs on different platforms like Linux, Mac, and Windows? Mono makes it possible. Our firmware version 1.5 supports Mono, a .NET compliant development and runtime environment. This means that you can develop mvIMPACT Acquire based applications for the smart camera mvBlueLYNX-X using the .NET language C# in your usual, for example, Visual Studio Windows environment. Afterwards, you can build the binary EXE file, copy this file to the camera and run the file on the mvBlueLYNX-X camera directly without any porting or cross-compiling! To guarantee the compatibility, the Mono project provides an analysis tool. Convince yourself of the simple handling and the great benefits for your application.

The mvBlueLYNX-X is MATRIX VISION’s next generation smart camera and features a powerful ARM-Cortex-A8™ core and offers an efficient performance up to 1 GHz plus an additional, separate DSP up to 800 MHz. It only operates with 5 Watts under full load. By using the ARM processor we succeeded in achieving an ultra-compact size of 85 x 55 x 35 mm (H x W x D). Besides the size, OEMs and system integrators also benefit from the wide range of interfaces. The camera series feature 100 Mbit LAN; two USB 2.0 interfaces, RS-232, digital inputs and outputs, display output as well as MicroSD card interfaces. A wide range of high quality CCD and CMOS sensors from VGA to 5 megapixels with C(S)-Mount lens holders fits all vision applications. Models with integrated illumination improve the handling and guarantee image quality. Furthermore, board-level versions are available as well.
