mvBlueCOUGAR-XD – three new quad tap CCD sensors available

POSTED 10/12/2012

In time for the Vision 2012 in Stuttgart, MATRIX VISION added three new EXview HAD II CCD sensors from Sony to the sensor range of the Dual GigE camera mvBlueCOUGAR-XD.

The first camera mvBlueCOUGAR-XD124a is equipped with the 2/3" ICX 674. The
EXview HAD II sensor sets new standards of image quality, sensitivity and speed in full HD and beyond. With 2.8 megapixels and 60 frames per second in full HD, the sensor impresses not only with its speed but also with its high definition image quality.

mvBlueCOUGAR-XD126 uses Sony's EXview HAD II Sensor ICX 694. The new 1" standard offers a resolution of 6.1 megapixels, a frame rate of 25 frames per second and minimal smear.
The 1" sensor ICX 814 is the flagship of Sony's CCD technology. With a resolution of 9.3 megapixels, the sensor used in the mvBlueCOUGAR-XD129 reaches 18 fps at full AOI.

Many applications need higher resolutions with higher frame rates. While PCs can handle these bandwidths, cameras which use standard interfaces like Gigabit Ethernet (GigE) and USB 2.0, however, reach the bandwidth limit – until now. For these applications, MATRIX VISION offers the new mvBlueCOUGAR-XD with two Gigabit Ethernet interfaces.

MATRIX VISION's Dual GigE solution mvBlueCOUGAR-XD has an image memory of 256 Mbytes (on top of 64 Mbytes resend buffer), 14 bit ADC resolution (CCD), smart digital inputs and outputs and many more features.

Aside from Sony's CCD sensors, the camera family is also available with the CMOS sensors CMV300 (648 x 488), CMV2000 (2048 x 1088), and CMV4000 (2048 x 2048) from CMOSIS.

The mvBlueCOUGAR-XD camera family is compliant with the standards GenICam™ and the upcoming GigE Vision® 2.0. Drivers are available for Linux and Windows. Furthermore, the camera is supported by image processing libraries which are compliant with GigE Vision® 2.0. This compatibility makes it possible to operate the camera with a single Gigabit Ethernet port.
