MV1-D2048 4 MPix Camera Series

POSTED 04/07/2014

rong>MV1-D2048 4 MPix Camera series with new NIR model OEM solutions for Hyperspectral Imaging

Photonfocus introduces a new NIR sensitive camera as member of the 4 MPix MV1-D2048 camera series. The MV1-D2048I joins MV1-D2048x1088I camera which is part of Photonfocus' extensive line of enhanced NIR cameras. The quantum efficiency (QE) of the new model at 850 nm is 35% and 10% at 950nm. In comparison, the quantum efficiency of the MV1-D1312IE 1.4 MPix camera is 40% and 20% respectively. The MV1-D1280I 1.3 MPix cameras, with deep depletion photodiodes, also have a QE of 40% and 20% respectively.

The Photonfocus MV1-D2048(I/C) 4 MPix camera series was released two years ago with version 3 (V3) of the CMV4000 CMOS image sensor. In order to enhance the sensor performance under all working conditions, Photonfocus uses a special FPGA sensor control core which is available in Photonfocus CMOS camera modules.

At the 2014 SPIE Photonics West Exhibition in San Francisco, IMEC (Haverlee, Belgium - www2.imec.be) demonstrated their hyperspectral image sensors which are based on the CMOSIS CMV2000 and CMV4000 imagers. In support of these custom imagers, Photonfocus offers complete OEM modules that include the camera firmware, IO and GigE Vision and Camera Link interfaces which can be used to develop custom camera platforms. For prototyping Photonfocus offers sensor PCBs with sockets for the image sensor. The firmware is available in two variants as standard camera firmware or as firmware with binning capabilities optimized for hyperspectral imaging. The camera modules are supported by the Photonfocus standard software package and GenICam compatible software products.  In addition, Pleora Technologies (Kanata, Ontario, Canada - pleora.com) can develop custom drivers and API for processors and operating systems to support embedded systems typically used in hyperspectral applications.

Photonfocus and their extensive worldwide sales network are available to discuss your requirements, choose the right camera model, choose the right software and quickly help you benefit from using these products in your application.

On April 15-17 Photonfocus will be attending The Vision Show 2014 in Boston, Massachusetts, where the complete Photonfocus product spectrum including embedded and OEM solutions will be displayed on booth 500. Visit us and discuss your application and needs with us!
