Mission Design and Automation welcomes Scot Lindemann as CEO

POSTED 06/12/2020

Building on over 15 years as an intelligent systems integrator located in West Michigan, the Mission team serves the industrial automation market in North America with the belief that their commitment to their customers’ success results in their own.

Lindemann brings with him more than 30 years of leadership in Automation and Robotics, formerly of JR Automation where he served in various leadership roles where he was instrumental in helping them achieve record growth until he left in 2016 as its co-CEO. Scot then took the role of President of BACA Systems, a stone robotics fabrication equipment provider in southeast Michigan, from 2017-2020. Scot’s passion for intelligent automation, leadership development and customer service will support Mission as they continue their successful growth as a leader in the industrial automation sector.

A Lake Superior State University (LSSU) graduate in Robotic Systems Engineering, Scot Lindemann has served the automation and robotics industry for over 30 years. Beyond his time working on the industrial automation integrator front, he has also been active in FIRST Robotics and has been a member of and served as a Director for the Robotic Industries Association (RIA).  Scot is also one of a limited number of recipients of FANUC’s President’s Circle award. This award, according to FANUC, “This most prestigious award recognizes individuals whose long-term commitment, technical, sales and marketing contributions, and industry leadership have resulted in record-breaking sales and robotic industry growth.” Scot’s community commitment is extensive as well, he was appointed by the governor of Michigan to the LSSU board of Directors and ultimately served as its Chairman. He has also served as a board member and as Chairman of the Board for Lakeshore Advantage, a West Michigan nonprofit economic development organization.

“The world around us is continuing to change. Personal and professional lives are affected daily by the advancement of technology and the speed at which the world operates. As manufacturing continues to be more and more demanding, smart, efficient, data-driven automation will be key to driving the world forward. Robotics, vision systems and cloud-based flexible machines are here to stay, and we at Mission are excited to be a part of growing automation in west Michigan.” says Lindemann.

He adds, “I’m really excited for the direction Mission is going in – we have an incredibly smart, hardworking team, and we’re very eager to continue to grow our presence as intelligent systems integrators. The Mission team has seen a lot of success in the last decade with their exceptional service to customers, and we are positioned to expand on that growth and our customer base.”

“Scot is an accomplished and proven leader in the automation and robotics sector, Michael Brom and I are grateful to be working with him again and to have him leading the team at Mission. We are confident that the existing wealth of talent of the Mission team coupled with Scot’s vision and direction will propel company growth through current manufacturing challenges and beyond,” says Jason Byrd, Board Member at Mission Design & Automation.
