Market Study Plans for 2010 - Major Changes Foreseen

AIA is reallocating its market research resources to better serve its members. Instead of creating a large, 300 page+ study, AIA will issue a less voluminous study without losing market data detail.
One major change from the old study will involve new market opportunity assessments. Instead of including these assessments within the annual study, AIA will release “mini-studies” free of charge to all dues-paying AIA members.
Another change that will be highly beneficial to members involves data collection. Instead of asking for data before the year is completed (and when companies are busy with year-end activities), AIA will request companies to supply annual 2009 data in February 2010. This will afford companies more time to collect data that requires no estimation and is therefore more accurate. It is hoped that this additional time will encourage more companies to participate.
While the price of the new study has not yet been set, it is anticipated that the study will be offered at a lower price.
